Cold Wave Is Here! Snow For The First Time In A While! ποΈβ¨
Due to the nationwide cold wave lately, the snow has been staying on the ground here in Tamba-Sasayama. βοΈ
Usually, it snows at night, turns everything white by morning, and then melts completely by afternoon once the sun comes out. But this time is different! The snow hasn't melted for days, and with even more falling on top of it, we are living in a beautiful world that looks just like an ink wash painting (Sumie). ποΈβ¨
Going out by car isn't impossible, but
since it's freezing everywhere and for safety's sake, we've been staying indoors
and keeping ourselves busy with little things around the house.
One of the best
parts of countryside life in a detached house is being able to spend time at
home like this without any stress.
It was the same during the pandemic; since
our house is spacious and has a yard, we didn't feel cooped up at all. We were so
grateful for that.
Even though a part of me just wants to glue myself to the
heater, I'm truly thankful to be able to spend this time without any strange
stress. π
To everyone in the heavy snowfall areas
like Hokkaido and Tohoku, please stay safe.
...Still, I can't wait for
spring! πΈπ·πΌπͺ»
