Happy Thanksgiving!

30/11/2025

There is only one month left in this year.
Today, my children and friends gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is not something my British husband is very familiar with, but it is quite an important event for my friends from the U.S. and Canada. So, what exactly is Thanksgiving? It may not be very familiar in Japan either.

Essentially, it's a festival held by the Puritans who moved from England to America to give thanks to God for the harvest of that year and for their safe survival. The native Americans also brought various foods and celebrated together. For more details on  Thanksgiving, please check here.

This year, my American friends came to our house and prepared various dishes. We decorated the Christmas tree, and delicious dishes were made using the ingredients everyone brought. We enjoyed a feast of mouthwatering dishes, gathering around the table and spending a lovely time together.

During this time of year, our sons and daughters were often away from home, working in resort areas, so it has usually been quiet. However, this year, that liveliness returned in a different way, with some of our boys, our first daughter-in-law, and some other friends. We had so much fun! Our stomachs and hearts are both fully satisfied! 😍
