A Summer of Growth for My Daughter and Me
I stayed for 6 nights and 7 days with my 7-year-old daughter.
Although my daughter is very sociable, she opened her heart within just 5 minutes—what a record!
Gradually, we began to see the relaxed smiles she usually shows only
to family, which was surprising!
This is all thanks to John and Yoko, who welcomed us with open and warm hearts. During our stay, they listened to my daughter's wishes while considering the weather, taking us to places like the Dinosaur Park, Children's Museum, Watermelon Festival, and fishing.
In our daily lives, we experienced activities that we wouldn't normally do, such as picking blackberries and vegetables, feeding chickens, and collecting eggs. My daughter was overjoyed.
In today's world, filled with material possessions, I want to live appreciating what we have rather than feeling dissatisfaction about what we lack. I also want to convey this to my child. Observing how John and Yoko discern necessary items, be mindful of sustainability, and express gratitude towards both people and things was incredibly educational for me.
I also enjoyed having various conversations with Yoko, who has a wealth of parenting experience!
Although it was a long trip, taking over 6 hours by transferring between the Shinkansen and local trains, my daughter keeps asking, "When are we going again?" I also want to spend more time with John and Yoko, so I hope to visit them again.
