Summer Holiday Guests #1
A few days after school summer vacation began, our first guest arrived. They were a mother and her 7-year-old foster daughter.
From the start, the little girl was very friendly and assertive in a good way, clearly expressing her thoughts, which is unusual for Japanese. However, after spending a week together, I realized that she was actually quite observant and considerate in her own way. I was really happy that she was able to show her true feelings.
Due to the extraordinary heat, we often stayed indoors during the day. We spent time drawing, playing with Legos, and even cooking. This summer, we had an incredible harvest of cucumbers, and every day, the mother and I shared ideas and recipes for using them, engaging in conversations typical of housewives. Of course, we also took care of the classic summer vegetables and the chickens! 🐔
During their stay, we decide outings and activities based on the child's preferences and interests after the guests' arrival. This time, in addition to home activities, we had a "Dinosaur Day" where we went to Namikimichi Central Park early in the morning to ride bikes, visited the Tamba Dinosaur Park, and also went to the newly renovated Chiitan no Yakata. However, everywhere we went, it was scorching hot! ☀️🔥🔥🔥
This summer has been exceptionally hot, so we looked for cool indoor places to visit.
We also went to the local buffet at the
Kuromame no Yakata and they loved it! We have been visited so many times this
year with each guests, we lost the count of how many times we visited!
😆
However, no matter how many times we go, we
never get bored of their food. It's always delicious.
We also went fishing for fish to feed the
chickens, which was fun and beneficial for both us and the chickens!
We visited
the facility called the Children's Museum for the first time, where the girl enjoyed
a puppet show, dressed up in various professions, and made wind chimes. Both the mother and her foster daughter seemed to have had so much fun😆!
During their 6-night, 7-day stay, we felt closer to both the mother and the child, which made us very happy. Although they live quite a distance away, I hope the father can join us next time! 🥰
They had expressed a desire to "give their child various experiences," and we hope we were able to help make that happen. Let's definitely meet again! 🤗💕
