Summer Holiday Guests #3
This time, a very fun mother and her two energetic siblings came to visit!
Shortly after their arrival, an air conditioner was installed in their room, and a new microwave that I had ordered arrived the day before. To top it off, a brand-new rice cooker also just arrived—what lucky guests! They've got good fortune! 😆
Now, what kind of stay will this be???
To cut to the chase, we had an incredibly fun time together. During their 5-night, 6-day stay, we did a lot of different activities. Since they came by car, they were able to move around on their own, made local friends at the park, and even went river play with them on another day. There were also nights when we got into origami, puzzles, and games. Of course, we harvested vegetables and took care of the chickens too!
One night after the kids fell asleep, the mother and I talked until 3 AM! We had no snacks, drinks, or even tea—just a great time chatting… 🥰
On the last couple of days, the father joined us, and we went out for dinner and explored the castle town together (though we retreated after less than an hour due to the heat… 😆). In the evening, we had a fresh spring roll party! 😍🎉
Time flew by, and they left saying, "We'll definitely come back!"
We really had a great time! Thank you for coming! 💖 Let's meet again! 😍
P.S.: Later, we received a review from these guests. It was more like a report—a very long review! We are so happy they enjoyed their stay! 🥰
Here's the review: ⇩⇩⇩
Five nights isn't enough!
I wanted my children, aged 7 and 4, to experience a cultural and rural stay during the summer vacation, so we spent 5 nights and 6 days here!
First, we were warmly welcomed by John and Yoko, and after relaxing for about an hour, when I thought of going shopping, the kids surprised me by saying, "We're staying with John and Yoko." I was shocked! My kids are very timid and shy; if a stranger shares an elevator with us, they hide behind me and face the wall. I never expected them to warm up so quickly in just one hour!
On the first day, they played card games and Lego, took care of the chickens, and harvested vegetables, clearly filled with excitement.
On the second day, we went to a large park. There, we made friends with a local mother with her kids, played together, and then went to lunch. After that, we played tag at the community center. When we came home, John surprised us again with new toys!
On the third day, we invited John to join us for pottery making. It was the kids' first time, and they were very serious about creating their pieces! The staff said it would take two months to finish, but my son happily exclaimed, "It will be ready in 60 days!"
On the fourth day, we went river play with the mother we met on the second day. Despite the unusually hot weather in Tamba Sasayama, the river was very refreshing. After putting the kids to bed, I chatted with Yoko, and we got so carried away that we ended up having a girls' night until 3 AM! 🤣
On the fifth day, my husband arrived, and we all went to a local buffet restaurant with John and Yoko! Everything was delicious, but Yoko's recommended galette was especially tasty, and I ended up eating way too much! After that, we toured the castle town, but the heat made us return home midway. 😇
We spent the rest of the day enjoying puzzles and brain games.
The five nights flew by, and my son even said, "Why don't we just stay again tomorrow?" I truly felt so comfortable that I didn't want to leave. While we were there, John and Yoko constantly entertained the kids, and we had fulfilling days.
When I asked the kids, "What was your favorite part?" my son said, "Feeding the chickens and looking for eggs every day was fun! The shopping game was fun too!" My daughter said, "John was fun, and Yoko was kind! The parakeets and chickens were too cute!"
I started off speaking politely, but thanks to their warm personalities, I ended up talking as if we were friends! I want to come back and say, "We are home!" It was such a wonderful place for a stay.
