"Tadaima" from Singapore!

27/05/2026

Following the previous family, this time a guest from Singapore has returned to us!

We think that coming back casually like family is something unique to homestays. It is the greatest reward of being a host🥰

This time, her schedule was coming to Japan for work, and after her work was finished, taking a detour to Sasayama before returning to her country.

I went to pick her up at the station, we rejoiced over our reunion, and after buying groceries as usual, we returned home.

Using a curry mix she brought from Singapore, she treated us to curry.
As souvenirs, we also received unusual things, such as Singaporean furikake to put on rice.

Now, during her stay of 5 days and 4 nights, there were many times we just chilled out at home or played with our pet birds.

We also talked about various topics, such as stories about each other's families and children, and stories about pets.

On her previous visit to Japan, she couldn't go sightseeing in the castle town because the days of the week didn't match up, so this time we went to places like the Anma Family Historical Museum, the Oshoin, and Makekirai Inari Shrine.

Because a foreign couple we spotted at the Oshoin also came to Makekirai Inari Shrine, we talked a little. They were a Belgian couple living in Osaka.

Now, for lunch, we went to RH Bagels, where we rarely go with guests. We have been there several times personally, but it was at the time of payment that we met the chef, Richard, for the first time. The conversation between John and Richard got very lively, and after chatting standing up for a while, we purchased a few house plants and left the shop. After that, we did a little more sightseeing, and on the way back, we went to "Makoto," a coffee shop in Nishimachi.

We are always thiniking about coming for a cup of coffee, but we rarely come across a timing when the shop is open; now this time since we happened to see it open, we jumped in. Wrapped in the usual fun atmosphere, we became friends with a first-time customer, and a person we are close with happened to drop by, leading to another reunion after a long time here as well.

It really made me feel that we want to cherish these human connections.

While doing this and that, it was already the morning of departure. Because we had a hard time buying tickets to Kansai Airport last time, we left the house early. Since she said they were already reserved, we felt relieved, but as expected, an unexpected trouble occurred. While translating through the intercom, we were able to purchase them safely.

After returning to her country, she promoted our homestay on FB. Hope she will come with her friends next time.

Let's definitely meet again! I'm looking forward to it😆💕
