The First Review This Year!
One of our favorite things about being a host family is reading the reviews left by our guests. It allows us to feel their emotions and brings back so many wonderful memories from their stay.
We recently received heartwarming feedback from two families who stayed with us at the end of last year!
Here are their reviews:
Guest Review 1: "The Best Homestay Experience Ever"
I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights with my preschool-aged son. I booked about two months in advance, and I was so happy that Yoko-san kept in touch with me regularly, giving me updates on the weather and our plans.
On the first day, they took us to a countryside-style buffet. The galettes there were so delicious that I went back for seconds many times! After that, we went to the Dinosaur Museum. My son, who loves dinosaurs, really enjoyed the Tyrannosaurus skull puzzle. We also met another family staying there at the same time. They had a boy close to my son's age, and the two of them played together so much over the four days.
On the second day, we went hiking to see "Oni-no-Kakehashi" (the Ogre's Sky Bridge). It was tough for me since I'm a bit out of shape, but my son fully enjoyed the nature. However, after returning, I started feeling unwell and was worried I'd be a burden. But everyone was so kind and caring, without a single frown. I was truly grateful for their help.
On the third day, I was still recovering, so Yoko-san took my son along with the other mom and her son to a local rice-pounding event and the dinosaur park. Thanks to the rest I was able to get, I was well enough to travel home safely on the final day.
I could go on forever about the great things here, but Yoko-san and John-san are such wonderful people that we had a very peaceful time. Since we practice English at home, my son was able to use a little English too. We want to brush up our English even more and come back again! Since returning home, my son keeps saying that the bath and the futons there were the best in the world. Thank you so much for everything!
Guest Review 2: "Life with Chickens was so much Fun!"
I stayed here with my 1st-grade son at the end of the year.
We happened to stay at the same time as another family with a child around my son's age. Together, we went to the dinosaur museum, played in the park, and went hiking. Having more people around made everything even more exciting and fun!
At the house, our days were packed from morning to night—feeding the chickens, exploring the greenhouse, playing English card games, and listening to the host father and mother's fascinating stories.
I was told in advance about the possibility of frozen roads in winter, so I made sure to come with winter tires. As it turned out, the roads were fine this year, but the temperature did drop below freezing, so I'm glad I came prepared. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
